First of all, what is YouTube.?

YouTube is an online platform where people Publish and watch a variety of videos, either for Entertainment or Learning.

According to Wikipedia YouTube is an American online video sharing and social media platform owned by Google. It was launched in February 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim.

It is the second most visited website worldwide, with more than one billion monthly users who collectively watch more than one billion hours of videos each day.

As of May 2019, videos were being uploaded at a rate of more than 500 hours of content per minute.[9] In October 2006, YouTube was bought by Google for $1.65 billion.
Google's ownership of YouTube has also changed its business model; it no longer generates revenue from advertisements alone.

YouTube now offers paid content such as movies and exclusive content. YouTube and approved creators participate in Google's AdSense program, which generates more revenue for both parties. It has since evolved from a small video streaming platform to a large service with reported revenues of $19.8 billion in 2020.
  •  So many people have been publishing videos on YouTube hoping to make money from them, but later on, gave up because they don't know how to go about it.
  •  Some people think once you start uploading videos on YouTube you get money instantly.
  •  Some still don't even know that you can make money from YouTube.
Today I have decided to tell you about YouTube Monetization so that you can be aware before starting a YouTube channel or monetizing your channel.

YouTube Monetization is for eligible channels only, YouTube Channels that meet YouTube monetization policies, this eligibility can be met by anybody, that's if you are determined.

Build up Your Audience First

Many people have tried and failed, to make a quick buck online. There has been a widespread myth for years now that you can make a fortune overnight online you just need somebody to tell you “the secret.” In reality, the only people making a fortune overnight online are those charlatans peddling their “secrets.”

You can, however, earn good money online, but it takes time. Just as it takes time for you to build up a website or blog to the point where it is popular and capable of earning money, you have to build up an audience on your YouTube site before it brings any cash in.

The one possible exception to this rule might be if you have already built up fame in another role first. In that situation, you could probably easily migrate your existing fans or audience to your new video channel. If for example, you are already known as a successful blogger and have already succeeded at monetizing your blog, then it wouldn’t be difficult to market your YouTube channel to your current readers.

Anyone else, however, is considered by the world to be an inexperienced newbie and needs to build up a reputation and credibility as a YouTuber before they can contemplate earning money from their videos.

You need to build up a library of quality videos, targeted at a specific audience, and work on promoting these videos, through social media or any other means you can think of, to gain a subscriber base, before moving to the charging phase.

 What are YouTube monetization eligibilities.?

To be eligible for YouTube monetization, your YouTube channel needs at least.
  • 1000 (1k) SUBSCRIBERS, which means 1000 people must have subscribed to your YouTube channel.
  •  4000 Watch hours within 12 months, which means your videos must have been played for 4000 hours. I hope you understand this one.
After the YouTube monetization eligibility. YouTube will notify you via your email then you follow the steps to apply for monetization, but if you reach the target and YouTube does not notify you. Then you go to your YouTube studio using a desktop and hover to monetization and check then apply.

How does YouTube monetization work?

YouTube channels are monetized with ads, people pay YouTube to advertise their contents, and YouTube pays you a cent of that money to advertise the content on YouTube channel, by placing the ads on your videos for your Viewers to see when watching your videos, and these ads are only placed on eligible channels as we mentioned above.

What is Google Adsense?
